Today, June 4th, Congress introduced legislation to support and retrain National Guard Servicemembers who lost their jobs due to and while serving during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is estimated that 1.2 million Veterans that were employed in critical industries have become unemployed as the economy and these industries suffered from the pandemic. We believe along with Congress that we must step up and equip these Veterans with all the support they need to rapidly retrain and become employed in high need industry. Obviously, these in demand vocations demand skills and certifications of these Veterans, requiring higher education. We are proud to support the Veterans Economic Recovery Act of 2020, which will subsidize Veterans’ education who do not have access to GI Bill benefits, and ensure they and their families come back stronger than ever to serve their communities and contribute to rebuilding a strong American economy.
