Since May, we have been calling on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to put a stop to actions they were considering taking against 5 schools. Today, we are proud to announce that Secretary Wilkie and the VA heard our call and reversed course on their decision!
“Thanks to the stalwart leadership of Secretary Wilkie, however, the VA held to its historically non-partisan roots and acted in the best interest of the Veterans to remove potential sanctions and ensure GI Bill enrollment eligibility at five universities,” said Daniel Elkins, Executive Director for VEP.
We are grateful that the VA took the time to fully investigate the schools in questions and with complete transparency clear them to continue serving our heroes. This decision protects the rights of Veterans, Servicemembers, and their families to continue to freely use the benefits they have earned at the schools that they feel are best for them.
