We’ve posted some helpful resources for Student Veterans over the past couple of weeks. Here is a compilation of those resources:
- Student Code of Conduct. Many universities and colleges have specified, and sometimes mandated, procedures for students to follow during administrative disputes. An extensive review of due process in higher education and student right to counsel can be found in the Federalist Society Review, The Student Right to Counsel, Aug. 20, 2018.
- Memorandum of Understanding. Well-meaning regulators, implementing Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1322.25, Voluntary Education Programs, created the DoD Voluntary Education Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DoD Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) and educational institutions. (MOU continues to cite SOC).
- DoD School Complaint System. This system is unique to active members of the Department of Defense (DoD Postsecondary Education Intake) (certificate required).
- VA School Complaint System. This system is unique to Student Veterans, (GI Bill® School Feedback Tool).
- Department of Education (Federal Agency).
- Federal Trade Commission (Federal Agency) “Protect your community by reporting fraud, scams, and bad business practices”.
