Suicide among the Veteran community has always been higher than among our civilian counterparts. We have been subjected to hours and hours of powerpoint presentations telling us about our risk factors, but now that we are out and there are no more presentations, where can we turn for help? Luckily, for many Veterans, there are resources in the VA to help but for many Guard and Reservists, there is nothing.
We have been and will continue to push for expanded coverage for the men and women of the Guard and Reserves and especially for those that have never deployed who have the least access of all. We believe that if you volunteered to serve then you deserve the same support as everyone else who put on the same uniform as you.
