The Veterans Education Project (VEP) proudly supports the GI Bill Parity Act (H.R. 1423), introduced by Representative Mike Levin (CA-49). VEP has championed this legislation since the 116th, urging our leaders to fully recognize the commitment of our National Guard and Reserves servicemembers. This critical legislation ensures that National Guard and Reserve members receive fair access to Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits, correcting a long-standing disparity in how their service is recognized. Currently, many National Guard members do not receive credit for time spent in uniform, even when serving alongside their Active Duty and Reserve counterparts. This bill closes that gap, ensuring that every day in uniform counts toward education benefits.
